Citilabs invites you to attend FUTURA ASIA 2017, Citilabs Asia User Conference (AUC) in Beijing, China on October 11-12, 2017.  This conference will be held in Holiday Inn Changan West which is located only 12km west of the Forbidden City in the heart of Beijing.   We are very pleased to hold our Asia User Conference in the People’s Republic of China for the first time, thanks to the support of our many good friends and users there.  We are especially proud and grateful that Beijing Institute of City Planning (BICP), the planning agency of the City of Beijing, will be our local host of this conference.  BICP has been our close partner for over two decades.  Their Cube model has played a crucial role in guiding the unprecedented growth and development of Beijing over the past 20 years.

BICP has just completed their latest 2016 model update and they are eager to invite fellow Cube users and modeling experts from all over China and Asia to come to Beijing to review the latest Beijing Cube model.  BMICPD will host a one-day Beijing Model Review Workshop on Friday 13th October immediately following AUC at BICP and will invite all those who come for the AUC to be their guests and stay for this rare and great opportunity to learn about the latest Beijing Cube Travel Demand Model.

Asia is booming; many countries are experiencing economic growth and are investing heavily in transport infrastructure development.  China has lead the way in this growth and will continue to play a significant role in fostering the economic growth of the region.  It is an exciting time for transportation engineers and planners in Asia.  We sincerely hope you can join us in Beijing to see firsthand how Cube has been used to support the transportation planning and development in Beijing, all over China and throughout the region.  You will also get to meet and learn from delegates from other Asian countries and make good friends.

Invitation from the President of Beijing Institute of City Planning

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You are cordially invited to visit our Institute in Beijing China in October, the best season to be in Beijing.

It’s our pleasure to hold this international conference jointly with Citilabs Ltd.  I sincerely hope that you will join this AUC so we may share our skills and experience in transport modeling.  It is my sincere hope that you will also join our seminar on the 3rd day where we will share our latest Beijing model.  We especially want to take this opportunity to seek advice from key experts to guide us on how we may further improve our model in the future.

I look forward to welcoming you to visit Beijing, an old city filled with centuries of tradition and culture but also a modern city with the latest technological achievements.  See you in October.

Sincerely yours,

Weiliang Shi 施卫良

President of BICP

Course 1 – ADVANCED SCRIPTING TECHNIQUES WITH CUBE VOYAGER FOR HIGHWAY AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT

This is a two-day course that provides a comprehensive, in-depth overview of the Cube Voyager scripting language. This course presents techniques analysts can use to construct any imaginable type of transportation model, including activity-based models. This course will also describe how to prepare the inputs to PT and sources for this data, how to parameterize and validate PT and how to extract information for demand modeling and for analysis. It is designed for those already familiar with Cube Voyager who are interested in tips and tricks that will improve their efficiency and expand their capabilities.

Pre-Requisite: Good working knowledge of Cube Base and Cube Voyager

Attendees will learn:

  • Scripting tips, tricks, and techniques to efficiently automate tasks
  • Record processing and relational database programming techniques
  • Advanced highway network traffic assignment methods
  • What are the input requirements for PT
  • Sources of data and how to use this data in PT
  • The parameters in PT, how to set and validate these values
  • How to extract data from PT for demand modeling and for analysis

Dates: October 9-10 (2-Day Course)

Cost:  350 USD (Early Bird Rate on or before 31 Aug.) / 450 USD

Course 2 – SIMULATING MULTI-MODAL TRAFFIC, PARKING, AND RAILROAD WITH CUBE DYNASIM

This two-day course is designed for those with somewhat limited exposure to Cube Dynasim. Starting from basic concepts in traffic micro-simulation, the class will explain how to use Cube Dynasim to harness the power of Cube Dynasim and use it for traffic analysis. The purpose of the course is to give a thorough overview of Cube Dynasim for traffic simulation.  The course will also cover simulating parking, railroad and passenger movements.

Attendees will learn:

  • Introduction to Dynasim
  • Modeling a basic intersection
  • Network scenarios & traffic flow
