Using Cube Voyager’s Public Transport Model for FTA New Starts Project Evaluation

September 15-17

This course is intended to provide the attendees with a solid understanding of Cube Voyager’s Public Transport (PT) module and how to incorporate it in a transit model, emphasizing elements related to FTA New Starts modeling guidance. This three-day workshop will include lessons and hands-on exercises.

Software used: Cube Base 5.0, Cube Voyager


Attendees will learn:

  • PT’s modeling logic and capabilities.
  • Coding sophisticated public transit systems using the Network window and the new GIS window,
  • Coding complex transit fare systems and speed capabilities
  • Transit network access development including walk, transfer, park & ride, kiss & ride
  • PT’s transit path building methodologies including PT’s best-path and multi-path functionality in detail
  • Using XCHOICE to develop nested logit models capable of producing Summitdata files, and techniques for mode choice calibration.
  • Basic assignment features as well as more advanced elements including select link and station-to-station matrix extractions and reporting
  • The latest FTA New Starts modeling guidance using PT.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Application Development with Cube Voyager or equivalent experience is recommended.

 

 

Location

This course will all be held at the offices of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments in beautiful downtown Washington DC. The offices are located just three blocks from Union Station and five block form the US Capitol.

Hotels:

Citilabs does not arrange hotel accommodations. There are many hotels in the Washington region accessible to METRO and the training location is a short 3 block walk from the Union Station METRO stop.


Parking:

Paid parking is limited in the area and garages fill up so it is recommended that you take METRO to the training location if at all possible. If you must park, parking information can be found at http://www.mwcog.org/contact/directions/ .

Course Fee

Courses cost: US$1300

Tuition includes the cost of the training and all training materials. Computers and applicable software will be furnished at the training site.
