Cube Analyst

Many useful contexts

Matrix estimation is critical in many travel forecasting contexts:
  • traffic impact analysis: an important element in any traffic impact analysis is to have anaccurate matrix of car traffic prior to development. Cube Analyst could be used with a section of a regional automobile matrix, split the large zone data into the local zones, collect traffic counts grouped into screen lines, undertaken trip end surveys on any existing key developments. Using these data with Cube Analyst will produce a highly detailed, accurate matrix of current traffic flows in the study area.
  • regional travel forecasting : many model systems use pivot point approaches to estimate future demand. The availability of rock solid automobile and public transit matrices is critical to the quality of travel forecasts.
  • fratar approaches: fratar approaches estimate future travel demand based on adjustments of the base travel matrices. The quality of the base matrix is very important to the estimates
  • truck matrices : freight data is hard to obtain and when available it tends to be expensive. Cube Analyst can be used with trip length information and low cost truck counts to estimate matrices of truck flows.

Integration with the rest of Cube
Cube Analyst is compatible with all Cube products include Cube Voyager and Cube Cargo. Cube Analyst also functions with TRIPS and with TP+ (automobile and truck matrices only). Cube Voyager, TP+ or TRIPS provide tools for preparing O-D data and handle any manipulation and modification needed for O-D and cost matrices. The highway assignment and public transit functions in these functional libraries are used to calculate cost matrices which are input to the estimation process. Cube Base provides the tools for managing the estimation process and for assessing results.
