Training: Cube Voyager Advanced Scripting

What to Expect

  • Attendees will learn how to optimize Matrix scripting by using arrays, lookup tables, FILLMW and loops
  • Learn how to store matrices in memory to make Matrix processing more efficient
  • Learn how to renumber zones when dealing with matrices and networks. The attendee will apply the new scripting concepts to generate Trip Length Distribution reports
  • Learn how to use RECI and DBI for record processing and relational database analysis
  • Attendees will be able to create summary tables and use Topology Functions with the Network program

GENERAL SUMMARY OF COURSE

What will be accomplished (high level summary):

  • Achieve a deeper level of familiarity with the Cube Voyager text/script editor and scripting syntax
  • Leverage the usage of the Cube Voyager Matrix program for matrix processing advanced scripting and record/database processing
  • Leverage the usage of the Cube Voyager Network program to process network data

Prerequisites:

This course is designed for existing Cube users as well as planners/modelers with previous exposure to the Cube software environment and the Cube Voyager scripting syntax.

Software needs:

Upon successful registration and payment, attendees will be provided with a temporary training license and software download for use on personal or work computer. (Need an invoice generated for this expense? Please contact Katie Brinson at KBrinson@citilabs.com.)

Language & Time:

This six-hour training course is broken in to two parts, on consecutive days: the 25th & 26th. The course is scheduled from 12:00-3:00 PM EST each day.

The course will be taught in English.

  • Chapter 01: Application Manager VS Main Script File (with focus on Pilot)
  • Chapter 02: The script/text editor – Shortcuts and Tips
  • Chapter 03: Cube Voyager general syntax
    • Multi-Dimension Arrays
    • LOOKUP Functions
  • Chapter 04: Matrix program
    • (Program structure, inputs and outputs)
    • MATO Vs RECO Vs PRINTO
    • Matrix processing
      • FILLMW and loops over Work Matrices
      • MATVAL Vs AUTOMDARRAY
      • Renumber
      • Trip Length Distribution
    • Record/Database processing
      • RECI Vs DBI Vs ZDATI
    • Question & Answer session [approx. 10 minutes]

Day 2 – 3 hours

  • Chapter 04: Matrix program
    • Record/Database processing
      • SUMMARIZE using RECI
      • DBISeek
      • AUTOARRAY and BSEARCH
      • JOIN Databases
    • Chapter 05: Network program
      • (Program structure, inputs and outputs)
      • Add new zone and renumber
      • Compute VMT, VHT, and RMSE
      • Topology functions
    • Question & Answer session [approx. 10 minutes]
